Independent properties don’t have a tools problem. They have a systems problem.
Independent lodging operators managing complex daily operations are hindered not by a lack of tools, but by a "systems problem" where their existing technology stack (including the website, Property Management System (PMS), payment, and accounting) rarely works together seamlessly.
These broken handoffs between systems force operators to manually reconcile transactions and fill in the gaps, a process that adds up to hours of work and results in a critical "lack of confidence in the numbers" needed for making decisions on pricing, staffing, or investment.
The recommended shift is to move away from individual tools toward a platform approach where the PMS, website, payments, accounting, guest communication, and marketing are connected, which significantly reduces manual work, makes data far more usable, and allows operators to focus on the guest experience instead of managing systems.
